The Parish Council have held two special meetings to discuss the application by Bellway as below.

Application Number: DM/24/03281/FPA

Address: Land To the West of St Michaels Rise Hawthorn SR7 8BY

Erection of 81 no. homes, a convenience store (use class E) and associated infrastructure & landscaping

The Parish Council discussed the application at their Monthly Meeting on Monday January 20th and voted unanimously to object to the development on the grounds that it is:-

• Contrary to various policies in the Durham Plan
• The proposed development is on an unallocated green field site
• Contrary to the County Strategic Housing Land Assessment
• Out of scale with the existing village
• and will exacerbate existing  flooding and highway issues.
