Hawthorn Parish Council
The Parish Council organises a sunflower competition each year which is open to all residents in Hawthorn
All households will receive their sunflower seeds in April/May. These should be planted and kept indoors on a sunny windowsill until large enough to plant outside - making sure all danger of frosts have gone.
Judges will visit towards the end of August to measure the sunflowers. The results are shown on this website.
Prizes are presented to the growers of the tallest three at the September monthly meeting.
